Celebrities and actors have always been known to take up some of the most demanding roles in films and shows, but some unsuspecting ones actually have a rather healthy amount of athletic background. While some of these celebs may not be surprising, most will probably shock you.
]]>
Some celebrities and actors have gone through rigorous training arcs and sessions to fulfill a body and physique for a movie role. They go through what we would call “hell week” just to get the perfect body for their character. But what you didn’t know is that some of these celebrities already have an athletic phase—some even excelling that if their acting careers didn’t pan out, they’d probably do just as well in sports.
With that said, let’s take a look at 8 of the celebrities and actors you probably didn’t know had an athletic phase and ask the question: What can these celebrities NOT do?!
1. Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman, the Australian actor most known for his portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, is undeniably in great shape. Let’s not forget that this man is 53 freaking years old, but he’s not showing any signs of aging as seen by his mad Peloton skills.
The twist is that Jackman has always been athletic, which makes total sense. His one for #throwbackthursday photos, so when he posted his soccer phase on Instagram, that’s when everybody knew that he’s always had the athletic and sports spirit in him.
In 2015, he even told a media outlet that he used athletics to vent his anger. "When I was playing rugby, my wrath would come out, a rage I refer to as Wolverine rage," he said. "I'd be in a rugby ruck, get punched in the face, and then explode in a white rage.”
2. Jamie Foxx
Actor, comedian, and former cover model for Men's Health, Jamie Foxx, also dabbles in sports and athlete life. To say the least, he possesses a wide range of abilities. But as a child, he had only one thing on his mind, and it had nothing to do with a television or a stage.
Foxx was a standout athlete in high school. He played basketball and football as a kid in Texas, but football was his main interest. He aspired to play for the Dallas Cowboys and was the first quarterback in his high school's history to throw for 1,000 yards. Totally crazy for someone who’s also an actor and a comedian.
3. Emma Watson
Emma Watson is best recognized for her roles in the Harry Potter series as Hermione Granger and the live-action Disney adaptation of Beauty and the Beast as Belle.
But did you know that Watson joined Brown University's field hockey squad in 2010? This isn’t just a one-time thing though, she actually loves hockey. Essentially, she majored in English literature in the classroom, and on the field, she majored in kicking some ass.
4. Ellie Kemper
Ellie Kemper's time as a member of the Princeton field hockey team may not be legendary, but it is an age she cherishes. Kemper, who is best known for her roles as Erin on The Office and as the title character in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt came to Princeton as a freshman in 1998 and played field hockey for one year, winning second place in the country.
Despite this remarkable achievement, Kemper retired from athletics the following year to pursue improvisational comedy, claiming that she spent "about 97 percent" of that fatal 1998 season on the bench, offering water to her colleagues.
5. Steve Carell
It may surprise you to learn that Steve Carrel, who played The Office’s Michael Scott, actually fantasized about being an athlete on an ice rink. Steve Carell grew up playing hockey in Boston, but when it came time to choose a college, he chose Denison University, a Division II school where he could get more playing time as a goalkeeper than he would at a more competitive Division I school.
Carell has stated that he chose to play hockey for the love of the game rather than as a method of pursuing a career at the time, and to be honest, let’s just say that the Michael Scott we know could have never happened if he chose to be a hockey player instead. And besides, he looks better in a makeshift basketball court in a warehouse somewhere in Scranton. The OG Office fans will know. 😉
6. Leslie Jones
Leslie Jones is most recognized as a comic force on SNL today, but her stature (a towering 6-foot tall) may hint at the physical path she contemplated before writing and performing jokes on stage. Jones was awarded a basketball scholarship to Chapman University, but she only stayed for a short time.
She transferred to Colorado State University to follow in the footsteps of a Chapman coach who had left the program. That transfer status, however, meant that she was red-shirted and unable to play in any basketball games for the whole season—an unfortunate situation that freed up Jones' time and allowed her to try stand-up comedy instead, where she eventually dropped out of school to pursue.
7. Bradley Cooper
In the mid-1990s, actor and filmmaker Bradley Cooper was a member of the Georgetown rowing squad. Cooper began his collegiate career at Villanova, but after only a year, he switched to Georgetown, where he studied English, learned French, and rowed alongside his fellow Hoyas.
Cooper took a break from his crew team for the majority of the season to participate in a play, and when he asked his coach if he could row in the final vital race, he was flatly denied. After some persuasion, he was allowed to row, and Cooper's coach described it as "the most amazing thing" he'd ever seen in rowing. Seriously, how are these celebrities so good at multiple things? Like I don’t even know what I’m good at, and these people have, at minimum, 2 to 3 talents at once?
8. Chris Pratt
Whether he's playing a dinosaur trainer, a superhero, or a video game character, Chris Pratt has a talent for making people laugh. Given how toned he is now, he's also proved to be a gym-disciplined individual.
He had been disciplined since he was a teenager. In high school, Pratt wrestled and played football. Randy Couture, who coached him in high school, recently showed off some wrestling maneuvers with him. But his true interest as a kid was football, and he credits it with aiding him more with his acting career than any kind of theater training to this day.
That wraps up our list! Some of these celebrities may have been obvious at the first glance, but some probably caught you off guard.

https://www.teetweets.com/blogs/digest/the-office-best-cold-opens-ranked2022-01-10T08:00:01-06:002022-01-22T08:16:16-06:00The Definitive List of The Office's Best Cold Opens (Ranked)John Philip Argonia
The Office is undeniably the king of cold opens. From Kevin’s infamous pot of hot chili to the now legendary fire drill by Dwight Schrute, The Office, just from its cold opens, has set the standard so high for other TV shows. Let’s rank some of the best cold opens from The Office and see which one takes the cake.
]]>
Only the moments that precede the opening theme song are more legendary than The Office's opening theme tune. A few seasons into the comedy series' run, audiences were treated to these memorable cold openers. They were delightful, light-hearted ways to get to know characters. They added to the show's genuine office atmosphere. Most importantly, they provided us with amazing exchanges, dank memes, amusing one-liners, and essential insight into the show's bizarre group of characters.
For the unfamiliar ones, a cold open on television is a brief sequence that occurs before the opening credits and typically has nothing to do with the story that follows. While many consider Brooklyn Nine-Nine the current king of the cold open, The Office has the all-time title, thanks to the guaranteed craziness and hilarity of the first two-plus minutes of every episode. Whether it was an endless procession of ingenious Jim pranks on Dwight or The Office meets The Office.
Whether you are or aren't still under the mercy of COVID-19, many of us are pondering an umpteenth rewatch of the show while stuck at home, so we thought we'd break down some of our favorite cold opens from the show's nine seasons.
Prepare a pot of Kevin's amazing chili, parkour your way over to a good comfy chair, and let the party begin!
8. The reason behind Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race For the Cure
Season 4, Episode 1: Fun Run Part 1
I usually prefer the antics to the plot-driven cold starts, but I'll make an exception for Season 4's ironic opening. It undertakes the hard effort of establishing the show's new status quo (e.g., Michael's return to work as a manager, his domestic happiness with Jan, Jim's return to the office), while also delivering a gut-punch with an inattentive Michael smashing his car into Meredith.
The brevity of the song, Kate Flannery's comical pratfall over Michael's hood is just too damn unexpected and funny. Not to mention the unnecessarily long name for the fun run. Fun fact: I wrote the charity’s name from the top of my head, and looks like I still got some The Office trivia in my blood. 😉
7. Kevin's Famous Chilli
Season 5, Episode 24: Casual Friday
Kevin brings in his most famous dish, a big ol' pot of chili, to celebrate the return of casual Fridays at Dunder Mifflin. Kevin arrives at work early, hauling the huge pot up the stairs as the elevator breaks down. He reveals the key to his coveted recipe along the way: undercooked onions.
As he explains, everyone will come to know one another in the pot. Or on the floor, because Kevin spills the chili in front of Pam's desk, and it ends up there. He tries to mop up the mess with clipboards and office folders, but Kevin is flopping around in his toasted ancho chiles and tomato goo by the time the calamity is done and the opening credits roll... and we're doing our best to stay together.
Although this scene proved to be one of The Office's funniest cold opens, it is not without the hardships that some of the actors when through while shooting it. For one, Brian Baumgartner, the actor who played Kevin, later told that the hardest part was to make the actual spilling look like an accident and authentic, and that he still smelled filthy and of chili even after a shower. Mindy Kaling, the actress who played Kelly and one of the show's writers, also threatened to quit over the cold open since she got into an argument with her co-writer. Steve Hely, about the idea of the chili spilling itself. Luckily for The Office fans, the cold open was a hit and Mindy Kaling stuck with the crew as she watched the success of the show until the final season.
6. Michael Grills His Foot
Season 2, Episode 12: The Injury
Most cold opens have little to do with the plot of the episode, but The Office's first excellent one (they didn't start doing them until early in season 2) masterfully sets up the famous episode to come. Michael phones Pam in a panic, informing her of his critical injuries and requesting that she pick him up.
What went wrong? Did he get into a car accident? Did he step on a lego? No, it's just a charred foot from a George Foreman grill. Dwight being the Dwight who wanted to be the next regional manager is the only person willing to go fetch Michael, which he does so quickly that he crashes his car and suffers a concussion. This would eventually become the perfect setup for an episode where Michael protests that his burned foot is a much more serious injury than Dwight’s concussion. 💀
And yes, you can get one of those George Foreman grills at your nearest target for cosplay purposes, but please don’t grill your foot.
5. Jim Impersonates Dwight
Season 3, Episode 21: Product Recall
Third on the list is another one of Jim’s pranks on Dwight, because of course, we just can’t get enough of them. Identity theft is no laughing matter, but Jim's impersonation of Dwight in the show's third season, when he buys his complete wardrobe and asks progressively bizarre questions about bears, beets, and Battlestar Galactica, is hilarious.
It's one of Jim's less intricate pranks on Dwight throughout the duration of the show, but it's just as effective. So effective that it has become one of the most iconic cold opens and lines in The Office that is often referenced in other forms of pop culture.
4. Toby Returns
Season 7, Episode 18: Todd Packer
When Toby left Dunder Mifflin to start a new life in Costa Rica, it was one of the finest days of Michael's life. Finally, it was possible that the office will once again be a fun place to work! No more Toby from HR to ruin his day and to give him a temper.
Toby, on the other hand, realized that Costa Rica wasn't for him and returned to Scranton to give birth to the no infamous "NOOOO, GOD!" meme that we all know and love.
Then, Kelly took a couple brownies and announced to the group that she was bringing them back for Toby, whom Michael assumed was kidding since he thought Toby was still in Costa Rica. Unfortunately for him though, when he returned to the annex, he discovered the one and only Toby back at his desk. Michael was at a loss for words when he yelled "God, no! God, no. No, no, no!" in disbelief.
3. Killing Bin Laden, Hitler, and Toby
Season 6, Episode 25: The Chump
Michael has always had a deep, steaming hatred for HR rep Toby Flenderson, and he rarely missed an opportunity to let the rest of the office know about it, but he goes a little too far in this opening scene, which starts with Toby giving a rather boring safety lecture to his coworkers, one in which he can't even make fart jokes.
Instead, Michael tells the office that they'll die of boredom before radon poisoning, which draws a laugh, but his follow-up joke that if he had two guns and was in a room with Hitler, Toby, and Bin Laden, he'd kill Toby twice, which shocks the crowd. Of course, Dwight has to intervene and explain that Michael could kill all three with a well-placed neck shot, and he enlists the help of Phyllis and Andy to demonstrate his point. In this case, Toby is playing himself.
2. Dwight’s Fire Drill
Season 5, Episode 14: Stress Relief
Dwight’s “fire drill” was not only one the best segments in the series, but it may well be one of the most memorable opening scenes in television history. Dwight, the office's safety officer, begins by speaking to the camera crew while smashing locks and torching doorknobs across the office. He'd previously given a PowerPoint presentation on fire safety protocols, but he'd underestimated how tedious slideshows can be.
People learn in a variety of ways, as we see when Dwight ignites a fire in a little trash can, alerting his coworkers to the presence of smoke, and then sits back to enjoy the ensuing panic and confusion. Before Dwight reveals it was all a drill, Michael throws a projector out the window, Angela rescues a kitten she'd stashed in a filing cabinet, Oscar falls through the roof, and Stanley gets assaulted by his own heart. It’s truly one of the most chaotic yet hilarious scenes portrayed in television, and even in today’s standards, nothing comes close to topping this classic of a cold open.
1. Asian Jim
Season 9, Episode 3: Andy's Ancestry
You might have expected this one already. This now iconic cold open occurs in the show's last season, and while it's still amusing, it also reminds us of Jim Halpert's long tenure at Dunder Mifflin, where he spent much of his time messing with his hapless desk mate, Dwight Schrute.
Jim spends the morning at the dentist, where he enlists the help of his actor pal Steve (Randall Park) to impersonate him, while Pam plays along. Fake Jim has all of the appropriate passwords and previous sales information to make Dwight doubt his own reality, but it's the family photo of "Jim" with Pam and two young Asian girls that truly gets under Dwight's skin. It’s just priceless to see Dwight’s utterly confused face that’s obviously been mindf’ed.
Which cold open of The Office did you love the most? Anything we missed?

Okay, to be fair: nobody really expects celebrities to not slip every time they’re promoting their projects. It’s undeniable that being a celebrity puts a lot of pressure and stress on these actors—after all, they’re very eager to share their thoughts about their films and TV shows as well.
The problem starts when it comes to celebrities and actors spoiling major plot points and secrets of their shows and films, most especially when it HAPPENS every goddamn time *cough* Tom Holland *cough* that it's unimaginable to think what the PR team behind these shows and films are going through.
Let’s take a look at 5 of the celebrities that effed up by talking way too much about their show or movies.
5. Jason Momoa (Aquaman)
When Jason Momoa was cast as Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, the world was both delighted and excited for his performance.
However, Momoa spilled a significant spoiler more than a year before the release of Aquaman, and a month before Justice League, when he said that his version of Aquaman wouldn't truly become King of the Atlantis until the end of the film. Because every superhero origin story is different, this was a significant spoiler for the direction Aquaman would take.
This could have turned off some diehard DCEU and Aquaman fans who were an Aquaman film that had Momoa playing as the King of the Atlantis for the majority of its runtime. Nevertheless, it didn’t seem like that was the case as Aquaman still remains the most successful DCEU film of all time and one of the highest-grossing films of all time with $1.148 billion of earnings at the box office.
4. David Harbour (Stranger Things)
When Hopper—played by David Harbour—appeared to have died at the end of Season 3 of Stranger Things, fans were in shock and distraught. However, because the show ended with a sneak peek of an American figure in a Russian prison, many fans assumed he'd miraculously survived.
Unfortunately, these rumors didn’t last long when Harbour appeared on SNL and confirmed that Hopper is indeed still breathing and kicking. Pete Davidson, a cast member of SNL, asks if Harbour's character on Stranger Things is dead in his opening monologue. While Harbour tries to sidestep the question, he initially responds with a no, where he then tries to brush his response off by stating that he’s not “authorized” to answer the question. Come on, David, you could’ve just started with that instead.
After Netflix posted a teaser revealing Hopper's survival, Harbour live-streamed in costume and teased that he'd divulge more Season 4 spoilers, confirming Hopper's survival to anyone who hadn't seen the teaser and his appearance in SNL. Costar Millie Bobby Brown jokingly chastised him for streaming from set, but no sanctions appear to have occurred.
3. Ian McShane (Game of Thrones)
Game of Thrones actor Rory McCann gave a notable performance as the Hound, a role that looked to come to an end when his character died in Season 4.
Brother Ray was eventually able to bring The Hound back from the dead, but not before Ray's actor, Ian McShane, exposed this to fans. "I am responsible for bringing someone back that you think you'll never see again," McShane told one outlet. When questioned whether this character was the Hound or Jon Snow in another interview, he said, "The latter isn't the case, but it's possible that it's the former."
2. Mark Ruffalo (MCU Films)
Ah, Mark Ruffalo. If you didn’t know by now, Ruffalo is basically just like Tom Holland—he has a horrible track record when it comes to Marvel spoilers. When he failed to stop a live stream he was running before the screening, he accidentally streamed the beginning of Thor: Ragnarok. It was still a significant blunder because you could only hear a muffled version of the first 10 minutes and couldn't see anything. While Ruffalo was initially warned and frowned upon by Marvel and Disney execs, the incident ended up being excellent free publicity for the film.
In a 2017 interview with Good Morning America, he also revealed the Infinity War ending, though fans couldn't tell if he was joking at the moment. He effed up big time by telling the interviewer “Wait ‘til you see this next one, ha-everybody dies!” You can even hear him begin to say "half," which would have been a MAJOR spoiler given that half the universe is erased at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. He comes to a halt, but what he says next ("Everyone dies") isn't any better.
Ruffalo and Costar Don Cheadle did ask GMA to kindly edit out that part, but as evident with the now-famous clip on their YouTube channel, they didn’t. Although it’s still Ruffalo’s fault for talking too much, it’s definitely a dick move by GMA to not edit the part out. Come on, guys.
1. Tom Holland (MCU Films)
Last but not the least, we have the man himself, Tom Holland. Where do we even begin with this dude?
Tom Holland is most notorious for giving away Marvel spoilers—so much so that the Russo brothers stopped giving him the entire script for films he was in. Imagine being so bad with secrets and spoilers that you can’t even read the whole script for a movie YOU’RE starring in. 💀 But perhaps his biggest gaffe was when he ran onstage and exclaimed, "I'm alive!" to an audience who are just about to watch Avengers: Infinity War, believing they had just finished it. He instantly realized what he had just done and attempted to brush it off, but it was too late. I can’t even fathom being spoiled by one of the actors in the film I’m just about to watch. Should I be mad, feel grateful, or something in between?
In an interview with Benedict Cumberbatch, he also revealed the quantum realm's role in the MCU, however, Cumberbatch prevented him from talking more. Cumberbatch was placed with Holland for interviews so that he could "babysit" him, according to interviewers and spectators alike.
Oh, and he also revealed the title of his second Spider-Man picture, Far From Home...as well as the news that a third film would be made....and that Peter would travel to space in Infinity War.
Tom Holland is so bad with spoilers that he literally has 13 minutes worth of footage where he just spills stuff left and right. Marvel and Disney execs must hate this guy, but we still love him for being the goofy person and character he is both on-screen and off-screen. Let’s just see if he can hold out 1 more month of keeping it shut before his next film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, hits theaters in December.
Besides his lengthy history with spoilers, his Twitter feed is also something to pay attention to. I mean, my man’s casually flexing his AirPods while being wacky about it. Definitely a tweet that is a candidate to be your next hoodie, shirt, or sweater.

BTS’ support and statement for the #StopAsianHate #StopAAPIHate movement that has amassed over 1 million retweets. Hats off to these boys who are still in touch with reality and societal issues despite the fame and glory. Way to go, kings. 👑
At second place, we have the long-awaited return of soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United. The return of the prodigal son.
And at third (for the second time) we have Twitter’s cheeky greeting to everyone who was victimized by Facebook’s outage. Come on, Twitter. Give other accounts a chance!
The best trends (according to Twitter) of 2021
2021 was a great year for trends. As the 2nd year of a COVID-19 world, we got to see creative ways on how people entertain themselves without living the house. Well, for the most part. We also got to see amazing TV shows, movies, and music that BROKE Twitter and the whole internet.
When even your grandma has tuned in on the hype, you know it’s got to be record breaking.
Squid Game was so influential and popular that MrBeast’s rendition of the show got 42 million views in 1 day. You read that right—42 million.
Another trend that broke records, our hearts, and the internet is Red (Taylor’s Version)—a rerecording of Taylor Swift’s 2012 of the same name.
Whatever you say, Red (Taylor’s Version) is definitely album of the year material. Unfortunately for some, let’s say Jake Gyllenhaal, the success of her album isn’t something to be celebrated as he has become the talk of the town after Taylor released a 10-minute version of All Too Well. I’m sorry Jake, I love your films but I’m siding with Taylor on this one.
How could we forget the memes that got us through this year? There’s a lot of ‘em, so we’ll just keep throwing one until we eventually run out of meme supply.
The happy side, sad side bus meme. Except this one is a version most of us haven't seen before. Guess there’s a happy ending to everything.
The Anakin Padme meme. Cool, you’ve seen this meme before. You’ve seen this meme before… right?
The Agatha Harkness winking meme. The perfect meme to sum up my feelings when I’m breezing through a terms and conditions page.
And lastly, the ‘did it hurt’ memes. Yes, it hurt to watch the Fifty Shades trilogy. Oh god…
That wraps up our Twitter Wrapped for 2021! There’s many more we couldn’t put in the list, but 2021 has proved that the internet can provide us joy, entertainment, and bliss during these trying times. Let’s all hope that 2022 (pronounced '2020 too' 😩) could be the year that everything goes back to the way things used to be.
So, which category and tweets did we miss? Don’t forget to share your thoughts down below.
Happy New Year! 🎉

As much as we love Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas, it can be annoying when it’s literally the only song you hear during the holidays season. That’s why we decided to make a list of 7 Christmas Songs that embody the Christmas spirit that’s not All I Want For Christmas!
]]>
Oh, Mariah Carey. There’s nothing specifically wrong with her songs, it’s just that hearing the same thing over and over again will eventually drive someone crazy. From coffee shops, malls, to even your local food stops, all you’ll hear playing in the background is Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas, which can get annoying real fast. Again, it’s a good catchy Christmas tune, but it’s admittedly overplayed and just… old.
If you want to set yourself apart from the rest and tune in to more modern—with some nostalgic—and fresh music options for Christmas, here are 7 Christmas songs you have to add to your playlist to embody the spirit of Christmas!
1. Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande
This song will fall more on the nostalgic side for most of us since it was released back in 2014—which was 7 years ago! Nevertheless, it’s still a catchy Christmas song by pop queen Ariana Grande that everyone should give a listen to. On the real though, please release a 2021 version of this, Ari. Such an underrated Christmas jam.
2. Mistletoe by Justin Bieber
Another instant classic and nostalgia trip for y’all is Mistletoe by Justin Bieber, which was dropped 10 years ago. I think we can all still remember when this was released and became the face of Christmas tunes in 2011, but it’s still undeniably a banger by the Biebs. Seriously, why’d these pop stars stop releasing this type of music?
3. Oh Santa! By Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande, & Jennifer Hudson
Yes, Mariah Carey still made the list. Like mentioned earlier, there’s nothing wrong with her songs, it’s just that hearing the same music every goddamn time can make your ears bleed. In this fresh and latest Christmas release by these legendary popstars, we see a modern take and catchy take on what Christmas music should be like: upbeat, harmonious, and addicting.
4. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas by Michael Bublé
Not gonna lie, this cover by Michael Bublé is slowly becoming the next All I Want For Christmas, so we don’t know if that’s a good thing or not. Jokes aside though, it’s a different take on a Christmas song that deviates from the upbeat and catchy vibe of the songs listed before it. It has a calming R&B vibe that will warm ya up if you’re feeling blue this holiday season.
5. Like It’s Christmas by Jonas Brothers
There’s no denying that most of us were hyped and in awe when the Jonas Brothers came back from their hiatus.
so it would be a missed opportunity to not mention her Christmas classic, Christmas Tree Farm. Aside from the catchy beat and lighthearted lyrics, the music video is something you HAVE to see. Little Taylor is too adorable. 🥺
7. Holiday by Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X is one of the fresh faces of mainstream music, with his career breakthrough being everyone’s beloved Old Town Road. With that being said, his take on a Christmas song is something you can’t miss. Its exhilarating rap will get you hyped as well as its music video that straight out of a Christmas movie.
Which song are you playing during Christmas? Any song we missed?

Taylor Swift is taking over the world yet again with her release of Red (Taylor’s Version). Her short film, All Too Well, has also undeniably broken our hearts. Let’s take a peek at what the Twitter community has to say.
]]>
Taylor Swift just keeps on breaking records, our hearts, and the whole goddamn internet—and no one’s complaining. She completely deserves it.
Swift broke two Spotify records on November 12, the day Red (Taylor's Version) was released, according to Spotify reps. One holds the record for the most-streamed album by a female in a single day on Spotify. Red (Taylor's Version) achieved this on day one, with over 90.8 million streams.
The previous record? Folklore, also by Taylor Swift. The new Red surpassed the previous record she achieved with Folklore, which had only 78.7 streams when it was released 16 months ago. If you're wondering who last held the record that wasn't Taylor Swift, it was Ariana Grande, who broke it with her Thank U, Next album, which was released in February 2019.
Ensuing this success, Swifties all across the world cheered with memes, creative jokes, and many more on platforms like Twitter.
Speaking of brands, many business accounts have spent the day reacting to "Red (Taylor's Version)" on Twitter, using the album's re-release as an opportunity to make a funny pun, reflect on some personal grief, or simply hate on actor Jake Gyllenhaal who has been at the forefront of Swift’s short film All Too Well.
Due to this immense support and uproar from the Twitter community, it’s safe to say that Red (Taylor’s Version) is one of the most influential albums of this year. Not only is it a culmination of everything that Swift’s work, but also a homage to her memories with the actor.
Following the release of the film, Gyllenhaal is still yet to comment about it and has chosen to ignore the community’s hatred towards his attitude towards Swift when they were still together.
I’m not a relationship guru or anything, but I have to admit that it was indeed, what you would call a dick a move by Jake. On a serious note though, this album definitely deserves all the love it’s getting and I can’t deny that it’s taken me back to my high school days too. #StreamRed
What are your thoughts on Red (Taylor’s Version)?

Jack Dorsey has stepped down as Twitter’s CEO and is replaced by CTO Parag Agrawal. He is yet to state a clear and definite reason behind his departure as CEO, but the Twitterverse already has several speculations as to why. Let’s find out more about the resignation of Twitter’s bearded prodigy.
]]>
Twitter Co-founder and long-time CEO Jack Dorsey is calling it quits as Twitter’s face and CEO. This marks an end of an era for the company as well as the social media platform as Dorsey had become one of its most important figures that paved the way to Twitter’s success.
Dorsey posted his resignation letter on Twitter last November 29 where he stated that his decision was solely based on the capabilities of former CTO and now CEO Parag Agrawal to run and handle the company.
Although his opening statement was the question “Why it’s finally time for me to leave Twitter”, he didn’t really go in-depth as to why he’s really leaving, but more so as to how things are going to run following his resignation. So yes, we still don’t know the genuine intention of his departure, but some speculate it’s to do crypto full time, while some say that he’s just gotten tired and burnt out of the role.
Some sources lean towards the fuck that his resignation has been a long time coming and this was due to investor-activists pushing him to step down due to his lack of commitment and consistency to focus on Twitter.
As this is big news for the platform, the Twitterverse shared their thoughts and said theories regarding Dorsey’s leave.
Some mock his departure.
While some suggest his full-time commitment to crypto.
Meanwhile… props to this dude who just shoot his shot. 💀
And this... definitely a missed opportunity, @jack.
Of course, there are still who are grateful for Dorsey’s long presence as CEO.
And as expected, Twitter had to congratulate… Twitter.
The perfect meme for this tweet.
Despite his departure as CEO, Dorsey will still remain as an active board member of Twitter until sometime next year. Nevertheless, if you have any gripe against Twitter, @jack is no longer valid. @paraga is the new username to keep in mind. As long as Twitter remains as the perfect place to post stuffyou can turn into shirts or hoodies, no mentions of @paraga will be done.
What do you think of Jack stepping down as CEO? Share your thoughts and speculations down below!

https://www.teetweets.com/blogs/digest/6-trends-that-were-a-thing-for-a-month-then-vanished2021-12-02T08:00:01-06:002021-12-02T08:00:01-06:006 Trends That Were a Thing for a Month, Then VanishedJohn Philip ArgoniaMore]]>
Ah, trends. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, it’s hard not to care about them or even give them a shot. Some are ridiculous, most are meme-worthy, but on rare occasions, they’re actually cool and unique. However, we can’t really ignore trends that were totally the craze for like a week or a month, then just vanished. What happened to these trends or fads and why did they phase out? Let’s go over 15 trends that everyone and their mothers were super into, then just disappeared like a ghost.
6. The Harlem Shake
Remember 2013? When you were playing Minecraft with your friends until 4 AM, or when Snapchat was yet to become a thing? Or when Taylor Swift’s Twitter feed was still booming? Yeah, we remember that too.
But one thing that really stood out that year was the global phenomenon known as The Harlem Shake. In case you’ve forgotten what The Harlem Shake is, it’s where a video starts with one or a few people dancing while the other people around them go by their daily lives. But once the beat drops, everyone suddenly goes nuts and wild at the tune of Baauer’s Harlem Shake (hence the meme’s name). The meme was born from the infamous Pink Guy of the YouTube Channel DizastaMusic and TVFilthyFrank. You’ve definitely seen him somewhere.
It was funny and unexpected for its time, and for the right reasons. One is that it’s one of the earliest global trends to ever take place. While 2012’s Gangnam Style was also a global hit, it didn’t have as much impact as The Harlem Shake did. This meme was literally all over the place with celebrities and even politicians joining in with the memes and fun. However, just like any trend, it didn’t really stick for that long. Everyone just got sick and tired of seeing the same thing over again (which will be a recurring theme with the other trends on this list). Still, gotta admit that these were good ‘ol times.
5. Fidget Spinners
Fun fact: Fidget Spinners were a thing back in 2017 which was… 4 years ago. Wait, what? 2017 was 4 years ago? Man, I am getting old... Anyways, if you were not living under a rock in 2017, you have definitely owned or at least seen one of these on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube.
They were stress-relieving, fun to play with, and something you can do without much effort or attention. But how and why did it blow up? There isn’t really a definite answer to this question, but all you need to know is that your high school was probably filled with kids bringing these to school and spinning them around during classes.
4. Candy Crush Saga
Candy Crush Saga was the most popular game in 2012. It was easy to learn and was also a breeze to recommend to anyone—and by anyone, I do mean anyone since even your parents and grandparents would probably give this game a shot (if they haven’t already back in 2012).
The goal in this game is to win points and prizes by matching colorful candies in groups of three or more. According to C Net, the free puzzle game peaked in popularity in 2013, when it became Apple's most downloaded app of the year. Nowadays, it has definitely seen lesser numbers than it did 9 years ago, but it’s still a game you’ll see in the App Store charts.
3. Pokémon Go
Another phone game craze was the infamous Pokemon Go that took over the world back in 2016. Pokemon Go was so influential and popular that it smashed records when it was released, like when it only took 7 days for it to reach 10 million downloads and made $278 million in its first year.
This was the peak of Artificial Reality (AR) games and it really shows for how it set the standard for future AR games as well. If we’re going to be real here, no other AR game has come close to Pokemon Go. It was fun, unique, and helped everyone start an active lifestyle by forcing players to go out and catch new Pokemon. However, its downfall began when news of people dying and trespassing issues started spreading. Nevertheless, it’s actually still a popular game nowadays, with $1.3 billion in global revenue just in 2020 alone—a year where COVID-19 was rampant and everyone was supposed to stay at home.
2. ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
During the summer of 2014, the Ice Bucket Challenge was the most popular online trend. The Ice Bucket Challenge entails getting a bucket of icy-cold water dumped over your head, similar to earlier trends such as the cinnamon challenge and the "try not to laugh" phenomenon. The challenge raised money and awareness for ALS, leading to the discovery of a new gene.
This was possibly one of the most wholesome challenges the internet has done in a long while. It wasn’t over the top, it didn’t hurt anyone, and it contributed to research and awareness for ALS. Good looks, internet! More challenges like these, please?
1. The Dress Debate
The great dress argument began six years ago on February 26, 2015, when a user shared a picture of the dress on Tumblr and asked for help identifying the colors on it. The debate rapidly erupted and blew out of proportion on both Tumblr and Twitter, with two camps forming: #teamblueandblack and #teamwhiteandgold. Which color did you belong to during those days? Gotta be honest, I was #teamwhiteandgold.
The dress debate got so out of hand that celebs like Ellen DeGeneres and Kim Kardashian added their two cents to the discussion.
The firm that sold the dress did eventually come around the next day and put an end to the debate: the dress is a combination of black and blue. Yup, I couldn’t believe it at first either.
If you were one of the firm believers of white and gold supremacy, here’s a tweet you can wear to assert your dominance on non-believers.
Debates and trends like the dress certainly aren’t the first and last of its kind. A more recent version of this dilemma came to life in 2018 in the form of the Yanny or Laurel audio illusion. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s definitely trippier than this one and can really get you scratching your head (or ears).
That wraps up this list of trends (or fads) that you probably heard of in the past but is now just a phantom that lives in our memories. Whether you were one of the avid fans of these trends or just didn’t care enough to give a damn, they’re undeniably influential and have set the standard for the memes, challenges, and trends that we are being blessed (or cursed, sometimes..) with in 2021.
Which fad were you really invested in back then?

https://www.teetweets.com/blogs/digest/why-memes-are-becoming-the-saving-grace-of-this-generation2021-11-29T08:00:02-06:002021-12-12T13:50:32-06:00Why Memes Are Becoming the Saving Grace for Social Interaction of This GenerationJohn Philip Argonia
Memes are amazing. They’re crossing language and cultural barriers, they relieve stress, and they’re becoming the new medium of communication. You don’t even have to think of how to break the ice anymore. Let’s talk about why memes are the saving grace and how they’re innovating our ways of social interaction.
]]>
Ah, memes. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there’s no denying their significance in today’s day and age. Everywhere you go, you see them, and sometimes, you can't help but think, “Is this really the future of our interaction and humor?"
By the looks of it, yes—memes are the now and the future, and their relevance in the setting of a pandemic says so much about how we have changed our medium of communication with our friends, family, and loved ones. Oftentimes, we don’t even have to say a word when we want to say hello or start a conversation with someone. We just send a 100-kilobyte jpeg or a GIF and it does the job for us, sometimes even better than how we’d crack a corny joke.
There's no other way to put it—memes are a universal language.
It’s amazing how memes have become the saving grace for social interaction of this generation. It’s not to say that Gen-Zs and Millenials have forgotten how to communicate or how to “break the ice”, it’s just that memes and photos have gotten so complex and too funny that they’re more than enough to set the tone in today’s conversations. They help relieve stress through laughter, they ease tension, they connect people with similar tastes in humor and likes, and many more.
Furthermore, they’ve also shaped the entire culture. It’s hard to find someone aged nowadays who doesn’t enjoy a meme or two. Heck, even some people in their 40s and 50s still recognize a good old dank meme. (Did we just call you old? Um yeah, kinda. But don't worry, you're still cool with us. 😎)
So much so that even billionaires like Elon Musk can’t escape the influence of memes.
Meme culture has been so mainstream that it even made its way into facets of life that you never thought memes would be able to touch, like fashion and celebrity culture—fully evident with our collection of meme-worthy tweets from your favorite celebs that you can show off with pride on top of 'yo boobies. Some figures like Donald Trump don't even need to try—everything he used to jot on his Twitter account was meme material on its own.
Memes are fascinating, and they always put us in a good mood. They have a variety of goals and functions, but at their most basic level, they serve as a means of expressing people's thoughts and feelings. Memes range from whining about the difficulties of being a college student to Kanye (now Ye) who is verymuch outspoken on self-love.
Memes are also great tools to get across language barriers. If you want to make your friend from France laugh without cracking a joke in French, then you can just send them a meme. Nothing else even comes close to the extent of memes’ powers. Not even Netflix shows or movies since those still need subtitles or context clues in order for people to fully understand the story’s narrative.
With that being said, there's no doubt that memes have changed the way we communicate, whether for the better or for the worst. But, as we progress further into the digital world, what effect will this have on more traditional forms of communication? Will poetry in the form of words become extinct? What does it say about our future literature students and English instructors if memes replace academic writing? And, perhaps most crucially, how will memes affect current-day adolescent interpersonal relationships?
Maybe we’re overthinking, or maybe not. Whatever the case may be, we should all enjoy the company of memes for now. After all, they’re a beautiful product of our creativity and passion to make other people giggle with a photo that we saw on Twitter or that we made in under 5 minutes.
Let us know below! We’d love to see your taste in humor.

Billionaires Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are notorious for their petty feuds, and guess what—they’re at it again.
On October 11, Bezos tweeted a flashback photo on that Sunday evening in anticipation of a Washington Post article on his space flight business, Blue Origin, and its hostile work atmosphere.
Before the piece would be published, Washington Post had to notify Bezos ahead of time. Hmm... 🤔
Despite the fact that Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, had nothing to do with the issue, he couldn't help himself and responded with a second-place medal emoji later Sunday night.
What’s the emoji for, you ask? That's just Musk mocking Bezos for being “second” or a “copycat” in the realm of the space race. On top of that, the emoji could also have another meaning. It could signify Musk’s celebratory tweet for beating Bezos as the richest man in the world, whereas of writing, Musk currently has $277.3 Billion to play with compared to Bezos’ $197.6 Billion. Ahh, petty billionaire fights over money you can't even spend in a lifetime.
Following the publication of the Washington Post article on Monday morning, it became evident that Bezos' Sunday post was a preemptive defense of Blue Origin as a space disruptor. He'd shared a cover piece from Barron's from 1999 that questioned Amazon's success. Of course, Amazon has grown to be a $100 billion firm.
Musk and Bezos have been in conflict for years. Musk is, to say in better terms, childish about being the first person in space and claiming a slew of government contracts through SpaceX. Because of his attitude, he has frequently taunted Bezos for being a "copycat" and "second-best."
But this time, Musk was involved in more than just a space race. Even though Bezos declined to comment on the article, he used the tweet to defend his company's culture.
The Washington Post spoke with over 20 current and former employees and got an internal memo condemning Blue Origin's CEO, among other things. "Our existing culture is harmful to our success," read the memo from an unnamed mid-level employee.
Bezos' remark appeared to indicate that the article and its assertions will not prevent Blue Origin from achieving Amazon-like success. Before going into space on a Blue Origin rocket, Bezos stepped down as Amazon CEO in July.
Musk, for one, is maintaining the rivalry, even when it isn't appropriate in terms of business culture. He’s been always the kind of guy to take jabs at others, considering that he’s well-versed in Twitter and meme culture.
What do you think of these two billionaires’ rivalry? Do you think it’s petty? Or something that’s justifiable?

Ah, another entry in our wait-what-Kanye-did-that. In this entry, we go over his official, new identity: Ye. Yup, just Ye. Amidst the divorce, his petty quarrels with Drake, and the latest release of his album Donda, this might just be the biggest change that Kanye will go through for some time.
]]>
Previously known as Kanye Omari West, the musician will now be known simply as Ye.
According to a communications officer with the Los Angeles Superior Court, the rapper's motion for a name change was approved. In August, the 44-year-old artist filed the request, citing "personal reasons” behind his motive.
Ye was already a moniker for Kanye, who is best known for songs like Gold Digger and Stronger, Heartless, and was also the title of his 2018 album.
Shortly after the release of Ye (2018), Ye tweeted:
Alas, after 3 years and 1 month, his prophecy has finally come to life and the being that was Kanye West is officially known as Ye—just Ye. Nothing more, nothing less.
As of Tuesday, his Instagram account and website were still using his former name, despite the fact that his Twitter username had already been changed to Ye.
In various interviews, Ye has stated that the name has religious significance, as well as being a shorter form of Kanye.
I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So it's I'm you, I'm us, it's us.
Following this controversial yet very Kanye name change, the Twitterverse had their fair share of thoughts about the rapper’s brand new identity.
Some people are still confused with the name’s pronunciation
Others are concerned for Ye’s mental health and relevancy:
And then there’s this guy... 😂💀
Alongside his name change, Ye also got a few things going for him—one of which is his latest album, Donda, being released two months ago. He also got in a rather petty quarrel with Canadian rapper Drake who released his latest album, Certified Lover Boy, a week after Donda.
He and his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, is also under the limelight due to their recent filings for a divorce after being together for seven years.
Despite the plethora of controversies that Ye is facing, he is still Ye: The different, ostentatious, yet talented rapper—whoops, or not a rapper. Aside from that, Kanye West tweets on shirts, hoodies, and sweaters are some of the best collections we've got.
What do you think of Kanye’s new name and identity? Do you think he’s doing this for the clout or does he really mean his religious intent behind it?

It’s been a week since Facebook had rebranded to meta, but news and memes are still going around. What’s with all the fiasco and why should you care about the metaverse? Let’s see what the Twitterverse has to say.
]]>
It’s been weeks since Facebook changed its name to Meta, but the memes and news about it are still alive as ever. What’s the big deal anyway and what’s a “meta”? Let’s take a brief look at this major rebranding from one of Silicon Valley’s giants.
On October 28, Facebook announced that it is changing its name to Meta as it shifts its focus more on connecting people through new and better ways like VR and AI. It is worth noting that this name change does not affect its social media platform, Facebook, but rather its parent company, Facebook Inc. (yes, we know—it’s a little confusing) that owns Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Oculus just to name a few.
If you’re left scratching your head on what Meta or a Metaverse is, it’s basically Facebook's way of saying that they’re not just simply a social media-oriented company anymore, but rather a company that is planning on building a virtual world that can be as interactive as the real one.
Seeing that Facebook owns Virtual Reality company Oculus, it won’t be a surprise that in the near future, we could be seeing prototypes of a virtual world where you can chat and hang with your friends through an Oculus VR headset.
Following this major rebrand, it’s given that the Twitter community had to chime in and give their two cents about the rename. Needless to say that countless memes have come to life.
On a more serious note, some users also pointed out that Facebook's major rebrand won’t do anything “major” for how they steal the data of its users for that hard-cold cash.
Oh, and it looks like they aren’t even the first ones to get the name Meta and its logo. Come on, Mark. You’re better than this—or are you? 🤔
As a multi-billion dollar company, you would expect them to do better than a $20 million buyout for PC company Meta’s name. Following this news, the PC company is looking to sue Facebook for trademark infringement. A
To be fair on Facebook, their logo is super simple that it’s bound to look like some other company’s logo. The question is, did Facebook know about this beforehand or nah?

https://www.teetweets.com/blogs/digest/elon-musk-tesla-stock-and-taxes-fiasco2021-11-15T08:00:00-06:002021-11-15T11:11:41-06:00The Elon Musk, Tesla Stock, and Taxes FiascoJohn Philip Argonia
Elon Musk is yet again under the spotlight, this time, he’s going to pay taxes thanks to a Twitter poll he made. Is this “stunt” justifiable or is Musk being too dependent on a Twitter poll just to pay his taxes?
]]>
Oh, Elon. The spotlight’s on you again, this time, for.. possibly selling 10% of his Tesla stock. The determining factor? A simple yes or no Twitter poll that he created, asking the public for their opinion.
Last November 6, Elon Musk tweeted a poll and made a bold move by asking his followers whether he should sell 10% of his Tesla stocks (worth somewhere between $10-$20 billion) as a means of paying taxes.
The poll went closer than expected, with 57.9% of the 3,519,252 participants agreeing while 42.1%—most likely Tesla stock owners—disagreeing with Musk’s notion.
This wasn’t just Musk being Musk on Twitter, as he promised that he “will abide by the results of this poll, whichever way it goes." He ain’t clowning around.
Musk also reiterated that he does not take a cash salary or bonus from any of his companies as these will only mean that he will be taxed just like the rest of us. His only form of wealth is his Tesla stocks, that is why he is keen on knowing the people’s stance on whether he should sell 10% of it or not.
Following this poll, senator Wyden, the author of the Billionaires Income Tax proposal, clapped back at Musk, stating that he’s not buying Musk’s Twitter stunts and that whether he should pay his taxes or not shouldn’t be dependent on a Twitter poll.
Elon Musk being Elon Musk, he also responded to Wyden's reply with a witty yet childish tweet.
This fiasco is because of how billionaires pay less or even zero taxes compared to your average American worker. Individuals like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos all don’t take home cash salaries, bonuses, and other forms of taxable income. Instead, they rely on the heaps of shares of their companies which are only taxable by a maximum of 20%. That’s nothing compared to the US federal income tax that can reach a maximum of 37%, not to mention state taxes. Basically, this is how the rich stay rich. Here’s an informal video from Vox that explains how the rich avoid paying taxes.
If you think your favorite celebrities are safe from this, think again. Some big stars like Kanye—or rather, the person now known as Ye—still abuses loopholes to pay as little tax as possible.
In the midst of this whirlwind of news and chaos, Elon Musk has officially sold around $5.7 billion worth of shares as of November 12 in three separate transactions which started earlier this week. Looks like he's going through with what the polls say after all.
But hey, that's roughly 3% of the supposed 10% of Tesla stocks he said he was going to sell. On the off chance he won't go through with it, you can immortalize Musk’s Tweet poll inthe form of a shirt, hoodie, or sweater that won't cost ya half a Tesla stock.
What do you think of this whole Tesla and Elon Musk fiasco? Will he sell the remaining 7% of Tesla stocks he promised?

https://www.teetweets.com/blogs/digest/apple-has-done-it-again-with-19-dollar-polishing-cloth2021-11-15T08:00:00-06:002021-11-15T11:12:00-06:00Apple Has Done It Again with Their $19 Polishing ClothJohn Philip Argonia
By now, most of us respect Apple as a luxury and a high-end brand, but their ridiculous pricing sometimes just can’t be ignored. Last time, it was a $1000 monitor stand, and today, it’s the highly-awaited $19 Polishing Cloth. Let’s talk about what’s so special about it and some of the consumers’ thoughts on it.
]]>
Let’s get this straight: Apple is, and always has been, associated with absurd pricing. Back in 2019, Apple released the Pro Stand—a $1000 stand for their Pro Display XDR. Yes, $1000—enough to buy two PlayStation 5s, or a MacBook, an iPhone, or really anything under the sun that'll give you more use and happiness than a monitor stand.
While this was a controversial release that was flooded with criticism and memes from consumers, some tech enthusiasts like Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) stated that the stand’s price is fair and reasonable since it was catered towards professionals and creators who mostly have a capable stand anyways.
But Apple’s ridiculous pricing tactics don’t end there. In their recent October 2021 Mac event, Apple announced their brand new totally-innovative-and-game-changing $19 polishing cloth. By now, most of us are aware that Apple likes to brand itself as a luxury and a high-end brand, but $19 dollars for a polishing cloth… why?
Apple is taking this cloth seriously that it even has a spec sheet that listed the Polishing Cloth as “made of soft, non-abrasive cloth that safely and effectively cleans any Apple display, even nano-texture glass”. There’s a lot of jargon in that sentence, but it’s a great tactic to divert us from the fact that most ordinary polishing cloths out there can do the exact same thing. 🤔
This announcement took some consumers off guard and caused a familiar scene from Apple’s 2019 Pro Stand announcement. Needless to say, consumers were fast with the Twitter memes on this one.
This one takes the cake for being the most shirtable tweet (Yes, that’s a word… that we made up).
What’s perhaps funnier is that Apple really took their time in creating a compatibility list for its Polishing Cloth. Sad news for iPhone 5s users and below, the cloth is sadly incompatible with your device according to Apple. 💀
Oh, and it’s also sold out until November-December. People are actually buying the Polishing Cloth which can mean two things: They did it for the memes or they are part of the diehard Apple ecosystem enthusiast out there. Either way, we’re not judging you. People will like what they like.
What do you think of Apple’s pricing schemes? Does the Apple brand it make it all worth it?

Celebrity feuds and conflicts become overnight trends the moment they start. And as much as we hate to see the same headlines all over the internet and social media, some of these rivalries are just too good to not find entertaining. In this list, let’s go through the 10 most controversial and iconic celebrity feuds of all time—from the short-lived arguments to the most heated rivalries Hollywood has ever seen.
7. Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift
Of course, Kanye, or according to his recent name change, Ye,and the queen of deleted tweets, Taylor Swift’s long-running feud is first on our list. It all started when Kanye memorably interrupted Taylor's VMA acceptance speech in 2009. Following Kanye's apologies for the event, Taylor wrote "Innocent," a touching song for the rapper, and the two appeared to have made amends—emphasis to the word appeared.
... because in 2016, Kanye West released "Famous," a song in which he focused some nasty lyrics at Taylor. When Taylor publicly condemned the song, Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, leaked hidden recordings of a private phone call in which the pop singer appeared to approve of the lyrics, sparking an outpouring of support for Taylor on the internet. Most recently, though, leaked audio of the entire phone call appears to back up Taylor's account of events... and the feud just appears to be far from over.
But hey, at least Taylor got to finally finish her speech at the recent 2021 Grammys where Folkore won Best Album of The Year. You deserve it, Tay!
6. Paris Hilton vs. Lindsay Lohan
Paris Hilton's BFF Nicole Richie wasn't the only one with whom she had issues in the 2000s. Paris and Lindsay Lohan were formerly inseparable friends while being Hollywood's "It" girls, but their friendship abruptly frayed in 2006 after Lindsay was caught with Paris' ex-boyfriend, and Paris kept significantly silent while her buddy Brandon Davis disparaged Lindsay on tape. From there, the two celebrities fell into a terrible cycle of publicly attacking one another, making up, and then feuding again.
Today, it appears that Paris and Lindsay's difficult, back-and-forth "frenemy" relationship is still going strong. Paris rekindled their feud in 2019 when she described Lindsay as "beyond lame and embarrassing." Lindsay then responded with a sweet Instagram post about Paris, before jokingly pretending in an interview that she didn't know who Paris was.
5. Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj
Oh, the infamous 2018 feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, who can ever forget? The two rappers appeared to take jabs at each other in their songs, which sparked rumors of a feud. It all culminated, of course, in the infamous brawl at the Harper's Bazaar party during New York Fashion Week, where Cardi allegedly threw a shoe at Nicki. On the same day, Cardi sent an Instagram message directed at Nicki, claiming that her nemesis had crossed the line by insulting her personal life and approach to parenting.
After more vicious social media exchanges, the two hip-hop artists appeared to call a truce a month after the altercation, with Nicki reportedly declaring a cease-fire on Twitter. "Let’s focus on positive things only from here on out," she added. Cardi then responded with the following caption on Instagram: "Alright then! Let's keep it positive and keep it pushing!" A good end to a rather heated feud between the 2 New York rap queens.
4. Britney Spears vs. Christina Aguilera
Who can forget the rivalry that existed between the two pop stars? Britney and Christina's friendship dates back to their days as members of The Mickey House Club, but things reportedly soured when the two stars were pitted against each other at the start of their careers, with rumors of a love triangle involving Justin Timberlake. From there, the two stars continued to take potshots at each other in the press, with Christina referring to Britney as "a lost little girl in dire need of guidance" at one point.
Christina put the rumors of a quarrel to rest in 2008. "It must have appeared as if we were competing with one other, but Britney is someone with whom I used to hold hands," she explained. "On 'The Mickey Mouse Club,' we were all stupid young girls. It's been quite a journey for both of us!" The stars appear to be on excellent terms nowadays, with Christina even uploading a photo of herself and Britney on Instagram in 2018.
3. Eminem vs. Machine Gun Kelly
According to fans, the rivalry between Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem began with a now-deleted tweet from Kelly in 2012 in which he stated that Em's daughter, Hailie, was "hot."
Fans assumed Eminem had ignored the remark at the time, but it appeared that he was harboring bitterness behind the scenes. In 2015, Eminem had suspended MGK from Shade 45, his very own radio station.
There are more details to the feud since it got very personal and heated, but let’s just jump into the most important things like the rappers’ diss tracks toward each other. On September 4, 2018, MGK released the track Rap Devil which in just the first few bars, already calls out Eminem for his beard and age. The rap world was polarized with this track, some saying that it’s the best diss track of all time, while others clowned the rapper for disrespecting a rap legend like Eminem.
Of course, Slim Shady did not take this diss track lightly. 11 days after MGK’s Rap Devil release, Eminem gave the hip-hop world Killshot—his anger and distaste for MGK packed in a 4-minute track. If you were at the heart of this controversy, you’d definitely remember Em’s legendary bars like “This is it, as big as you gonna get, so enjoy it, had to give you a career to destroy it”. 🔥
Nowadays, it still seems that the two haven’t made amends yet as Eminem dissed MGK yet again in his 2020 track, Zeus. Hip-hop feuds are really something else.
2. KSI vs. Logan Paul
If you’re deep into YouTube drama, controversies, and the whole shtick, then you probably heard of either KSI or Logan Paul already. While these two YouTubers have their fair share of their own controversies—namely Logan’s 2017 Japan Forest video and KSI's long list of edgy jokes from his past videos that could get him cancelled today, their feud had evolved into this messy fight that jumpstarted the YouTube boxing scene.
KSI began his boxing career before Logan, on February 3, 2018, when he faced YouTuber Joe Weller. The Paul brothers were then called out by KSI after he won by knockout in the third round.
After the triumph, KSI added, "If any YouTuber wants it, they can come get it." "I don't care if it's Jake Paul, Logan Paul, or any of the Pauls." Of course, being the egotistical maniac that Logan Paul used to be, he immediately accepted KSI’s invitation. Their first boxing match took place in 2018 and concluded in a draw.
Following the disappointing result of the match, a lot of things happened. From their chaotic press conferences to numerous diss tracks and even personal attacks against each other’s families, the KSI vs. Logan Paul feud is one of the most entertaining yet long-running rivalries on the platform.
Fortunately, Logan Paul got humbled after he lost to KSI in their second professional boxing match. Since then, noticeable change in Logan Paul’s demeanor is evident in his recent videos and KSI had also moved on from the feud by focusing on music, albeit the UK YouTuber repeatedly stated that he is more than willing to box Logan Paul’s brother, Jake, to also “humble” him.
Nowadays, the two have reconciled and have been good friends—even doing a podcasttogether where the two casually laugh off their hilarious moments together.
1. Kanye West vs. Jay-Z
As expected, Kanye has had issues with many people, not just Taylor Swift. That includes Jay-Z—though the two hip-hop artists have been longtime friends and collaborators since the 1990s, their relationship has reportedly deteriorated in recent years. Kanye West openly chastised Jay-Z for not contacting him in 2016, saying: "Call me, bruh, Jay-Z. You haven't called me yet." Soon after, in his song "Kill Jay-Z," Jay-Z responded with a verse about Kanye: "You ain't a saint / This ain't KumbaYe / But you got injured because you did cool by Ye."
In an interview with The New York Times in 2017, Jay-Z addressed the disagreement, breaking his silence about his relationship with Kanye. “With us, it's a difficult connection. Kanye started his career on my label. As a result, I've always been his big brother," he explained. "We're both entertainers, too." It's always felt like there was an underlying competitiveness between you and your older brother... But it'll always be good, we'll always be good."

Saving GIFs from Twitter in 2021 shouldn’t be such a chore, but it still is. What’s up with that?
Everybody loves GIFs. From our mothers to even grandparents, GIFs are hilarious means of sending someone your thoughts through moving pictures. But what’s not fun though is saving GIFs from Twitter. It’s not really that difficult of a process, but Twitter doesn’t really do anything to make it any easier or straightforward.
If you are scratching your head, wondering how to save GIFs from Twitter on your desktop or on your phone, then you’re in the right place. Let’s begin with our desktop users first.
How to save GIFs from Twitter using the website
Step 1: Find a GIF that you’d like to save.
Probably the easiest part of the process. Let’s say you go for a classic The Office GIF (great taste btw) that you’d like to save for future reference.
Step 2: Right-click the GIF and click the Copy Gif Address button.
The button should be located on top of your mouse cursor. Easy enough.
Step 3: Visit your favorite GIF downloader.
Things start to get a little confusing here. You’ll see that once you download a GIF using these GIFs downloaders: they don’t really save a GIF—they save a video file instead. Why so? It’s because of Twitter’s way of uploading GIFs. They don’t really upload as GIFs, but rather as small video files to maintain efficiency and to boost upload times. But anyway, enough with the technicalities.
Step 4: Paste the GIF Address you just copied from Twitter into the form then click download.
Simple enough. If nothing happens when you paste, then you copied something right after you did Step 2. If so, just redo Step 2 and you should be good to go.
Step 5: Click the blue Download Link button.
This should take you to another page where your GIF will be shown and played.
Step 6: Click the button with the three vertical dots (right beside the fullscreen button) and click Download.
As mentioned earlier, your GIF will be saved as a .mp4 file, but worry not—we’ll also go through how to convert ‘em back to good ‘ol GIFs.
Step 7: Go to an efficient mp4-to-GIF converter.
We also did the research for you on this one. EZ GIF is the best website that offers this service right now, so head over to their video-to-gif converter and focus on the Select video from your computer section. Your downloaded GIF should be located on your desktop or on your PC’s downloads folder. Under that section, press the Choose File button and select your saved GIF. After your GIF is selected, press the blue Upload video! Below.
If you can’t find where your downloaded GIF is, press CTRL + J (on Windows) or Command + J (on Mac) on your keyboard. Your browser’s recent download list should appear where you should see your GIF as the most recent download. Once you see your GIF on the downloads list, hover your cursor over it and you should see a folder icon with a Show in folder label—click it and you will be redirected to your downloaded GIFs directory.
Step 8: Convert your mp4 to a GIF!
We’re finally on the last step! You’ll be greeted with a plethora of options and modifications that you can do to your GIF, but don’t mind these. Just scroll down and click the blue Convert to GIF! button. Afterward, you should see your processed GIF under the Output GIF section. Find the save button (floppy disk icon) and click it to finally download your GIF.
Ta-da! You’ve finally downloaded your Twitter GIF on your desktop after 8 steps.
How to save GIFs from Twitter using your phone
This guide will only be covering our iPhone and iOS users since the app that we will be using in this guide (GIFwrapped) is currently unavailable on Google Playstore. We’ll still go through some options for all Android users out there, so scroll down to see that.
However, it should be noted that some Android phones have built-in GIF savers/downloaders which you can use to download GIFs with one tap. We won’t be going through that here, but you can always do your own research accordingly. Let’s begin!
Step 1: Download the GIFwrapped app from the App Store.
You can search for the app on the iOS App Store or you may also click this link to be redirected to GIFwrapped’s App Store page. GIFwrapped is free to download, so don’t worry about any fees.
Step 2: Find a GIF that you’d like to save.
Easiest part of the process. Let’s go with the same The Office GIF we used earlier.
Step 3: Copy the tweet’s link.
Since the GIF is under a tweet, you can just copy the tweet’s link by pressing the Share button (button right next to the like button) and tap on the Copy Link button.
Step 4: Paste the link on GIFwrapped.
Just long-press on the blank Search form on GIFwrapped and paste the link. Once done pasting, click the blue search button on your phone’s keyboard.
Step 5: Save the GIF on your phone.
Once GIFwrapped is done searching for your GIF, you can just tap on it and save it by tapping the button on the lower left and finally tapping the Save to Library button.
Voila! Much easier than on a desktop, but still not as straightforward as how we would like it in 2021. For our Android users, an alternative to GIFwrapped is the TWdownload app which you can download here. It’s pretty much the same process with GIFwrapped: just copy the tweet’s link, paste it on the TWdownload app, and done.

Twitter is finally dipping its toes on a cryptocurrency and NFT future for their platform. Just last September 23, the company has announced that they will be enabling cryptocurrency tippings—specifically Bitcoin, for creators and artists who want to make money on the platform. Let’s take a brief look at this new feature.
]]>
No, Twitter won’t turn into a cryptocurrency mining or cryptocurrency investing platform, but it’s still a step towards a crypto and NFT-driven future.
Twitter just made a huge announcement last September 23 that it would be opening its doors to cryptocurrency. Users of the platform will now be able to tip other users and their favorite creators using bitcoins. Aside from Bitcoin, Twitter will allow users to send and accept tips by connecting nine traditional payment providers to their profiles, including Venmo and Cash App. The payments aren't handled by Twitter, so don’t worry about the bird app snooping around your hard-earned cash.
The good news is that Twitter won’t take any cuts or percentages of the tips sent to you. This is in line with Twitter promoting their platform as a formidable market for creators and artists who want to show off their content and material.
This isn’t the first time Twitter is experimenting with tipping. In May of 2021, Twitter launched Tip Jar to a very limited audience to see if it might let creators and artists earn money from their followers for the material they share on Twitter. The company said on Thursday that its Tips feature will be accessible to all Apple iOS users this week, with Android users following suit in the coming weeks.
As mentioned earlier, Twitter doesn’t handle any of the transactions done on the platform. The tips are instead facilitated by a Bitcoin wallet app called Strike. It’s designed to be faster, cheaper, secure, and overall a more efficient way of transacting using Bitcoins, and the company hopes that Strike will serve as its right foot forwards in a crypto future.
This has been a long time coming as Jack Dorsey, the company’s CEO, had been very vocalon Twitter regarding his support and vision for cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, NFTs (non-fungible tokens), and the likes of it. Because of this, Twitter has also stated its future plans on supporting NFTs. It’s not clear how all of these will be integrated in the future, but all we can do is just sit and wait.
As these are all in the experimental stage, Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency available for tipping, but we can expect other currencies like Ethereum and altcoins to join Bitcoin if this goes well.
What do you think of this new feature? Is cryptocurrency really the future for Twitter?

If Halloween movies aren’t giving you the spooks, then these 6 tweets (that are actually real!) might do the trick. Just make sure to tread lightly as these tweets aren’t for the faint of heart.
From weird stories from the forests to insane claims of the sun disappearing, let’s go through the 6 spookiest tweets that are perfect for Halloween in 2021. Ready to be frightened?
6. The Cabin in the Woods, except it’s real life…
A four-day trip to a rural cottage in Victoria was planned by this Australian writer, but he did not anticipate being tormented by anything ominous in the woods. Strange sounds on the roof, unexplained package deliveries, windchimes that played without a breeze, and moths that seemed weirdly enamored with his temporary dwelling were all reported by him during his journey.
Seeing that he’s a writer, nobody can really verify whether this spine-chilling thread actually happened or he just finessed and used his writing skills to fool Twitter… either way, his story is one way to get you at the edge of your seats during a spooky Halloween night.
5. The Sun had what? Vanished?!
In 2018, a Twitter user stated that the sun had set and that tornado sirens, screaming, and gunshots could be heard ringing through the night. Strange humanoids peering through the windows.
Neighbors vanished, the water from the faucets changed color, and the user tweeted for two years about a struggle to find a friend and go to safety. Odd ships and strange lights could be seen glinting through the windows and flickering overhead. Just before Halloween in 2020, the tweets unexpectedly halted. Was this user transported in a parallel universe..?
4. A sleep paralysis demon that has come into life
Adam Ellis, a New York writer and cartoonist, began seeing the ghost of a child in his residence in August 2017. He thought the child's name was David and that he died of a head injury, based on a dream. Over the course of several months, Ellis documented the drama by capturing photographic proof of David at two of his apartments. That Christmas, David even followed him back to Montana. David is said to have started possessing Ellis around early 2018.
This spooky yet believable thread is further enhanced by Adam’s haunting illustrations that showcase the demon’s characteristics and physical features. TBH, I would immediately move out the first night I sense something’s off with the place.
3. The best thread to follow for spine-chilling short stories
Instead of telling a single narrative over the course of several tweets, Twitter user Priscilla posted a collection of spooky stories she'd seen online. From Tumblr, Facebook, to even YouTube, her thread is probably one of the scariest Twitter threads out there that one won’t dare to read during Halloween.
Some of the topics discussed include unexplained handprints in the snow, disappearances, foretelling, and terrible coincidences. There are stories here that deal with people who have committed suicide or tried suicide, so take this as a trigger warning.
2. Finding a lost phone with a dead person as the wallpaper.
Nela Garca discovered a phone on the sidewalk in Madrid way back in 2018 after it had been abandoned. On the home screen of the unlocked phone was a picture of a woman. Marta Gutierrez had a Facebook account on her phone, but the picture on her home page was of someone else, a woman named Beatrice who had died in the United States many years earlier.
As Nela dug deeper into the phone, she found weird text messages and random strings of numbers. Despite the fact that the story is written in Spanish, you may follow along in English by clicking on Twitter's translate button. The first tweet of the thread roughly translates to:
Look at this, I have to tell this because I'm FLIPPING. The other day, I found this phone on the street. At first I thought it was from the girl in the photo, but I just discovered that this is impossible because she died 8 years ago in the US. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
1. My Grandpa’s haunted shack
Greg, a Twitter user who had only met his grandfather once before he died, was left in charge of his house. Strange things started happening to him after only a few hours of being there. While Greg was out getting groceries in the nearby town (25 minutes away), someone nailed a triangle of sticks and twine to the front door.
As Greg walked around the property, he discovered more weird artifacts, including a notebook and a hoodie that had clearly been used. Over the course of nearly three months, his experiences in the house of horrors unfolded. Ever since January 2019, there have been no signs of any activity on Greg’s Twitter account.

Halloween is coming up and the tradition of watching scary films is inevitable. If you’re still out of ideas or want a solid list of the best Halloween movies to watch on the 31st, then look no further. Here are 15 of the best and spookiest Halloween movies you need to watch right now.
A Halloween night won’t be complete without watching a scary movie with your friends and family. It’s a tradition at this point, and it really feels like Halloween isn’t complete without it.
Worry not! In this list of the 15 best Halloween movies, we will be featuring some horror classics like Scream to modern masterpieces like It. Get your popcorns ready, but remember to hold onto them tightly—these Halloween and horror movies are full of everyone’s dreaded jumpscares and suspenseful scenes.
15. The Shining (1980)
Starting off with a timeless classic, The Shining has proved to be many’s go-to Halloween special for how it isn’t your typical horror movie.
It doesn’t depend on jumpscares, big monsters, or masked killers, but rather an unsuspecting antagonist who slowly loses himself throughout the film.
14. The Exorcist (1973)
Another classic that is often regarded as one of the scariest films of all time. It follows a story of a young girl who gets possessed by a demon and undergoes, as the title suggests, an exorcism.
It doesn’t go well though for reasons that we’d rather leave you to see for yourself.
13. Paranormal Activity (2007)
Most of us had a phase where we thought that this movie was an actual compilation of footage that took place in the real world. But hey, we can rest easy now knowing that it’s just a film.
Still, there’s just something uncanny and creepy about watching a film through CCTV cameras. Also, this film has a lot of jumpscares. Be warned!
12. A Quiet Place (2018)
This film ranks high in modern masterpieces of horror for its unique take in the horror genre. In the world of A Quiet Place, monsters won’t attack you if they see you—but when they hear you.
What makes this film even more terrifying is that it’s set in a post-apocalyptic world and we’re presented with a family’s point of view.
11. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Nancy Thompson and her pals on Elm Street are haunted by Fred Krueger, a clawed killer who they see only in their dreams. Fred is going in for the kill one by one, so Nancy will have to act quickly.
Who will come to your aid if he captures you while you're fast asleep?
10. It (2017)
One of the most popular costumes for Halloween in recent years has been that of Pennywise the Clown, so it's only right that the 2017 film adaptation of Stephen King's spine-tingling tale makes the cut.
Follow it up with It: Chapter Two, released in 2019, for a double feature of King’s horror gem.
9. Coraline (2009)
We follow Coraline, a young adventurer, as she enters a different world where she encounters people who are similar to those she knows... yet a touch strange (even as they promise her everything she wants).
Coraline's scary button eyes will spook even grownups out, despite the fact that it is meant to be a children’s horror film.
8. The Sixth Sense (1999)
"I see dead people" is still one of the most well-known lines from Halloween films, and for good reason. Haley Joel Osment plays a 9-year-old youngster in this supernatural thriller who must help ghosts pass on in surprising ways.
If you still don’t know this film’s insane ending, don’t worry—we won’t spoil it for ya.
7. Poltergeist (1982)
Even in this day and age, if you mention "They're hereeeeeeeee," people will still shiver. We owe it all to a tale about an evil spirit-possessed mansion.
6. Halloween (2018)
This remake of the 1978 thriller provides the tried-and-true series a refresh with its original star, Jamie Lee Curtis, if you're looking for something a touch more modern.
Director David Gordon Green refocuses the series on the Strode women's reactions to Michael Myers' return.
5. The Conjuring (2013)
When paranormal investigators are dispatched to a remote farmhouse, they believe they will be able to handle the less-than-terrifying hauntings. But if there's one thing we've learned from old horror movies, it's that spirits should never be underestimated.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, the third episode in the trilogy, was released earlier this year and just like the previous films, is still based on the real-life experiences of paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren.
4. Saw (2004)
While most people associate the Saw trilogy with ushering in an era of gore and violence, the first Saw film stood out for its unique blend of horror and police procedural – as well as its killer twist.
3. The Blair Witch Project (1999)
This cult-favorite follows a group of film students who become lost in the woods while exploring the local "Blair Witch.” This film popularized the concept of "found footage" horror and set the standard for all the next films of its genre to come.
Next time you're out in the woods, just try to not think about the presence of a Blair Witch…
2. Get Out (2017)
Jordan Peele's masterwork, in which racism is used as a vehicle for supernatural horror, is a must-see. The cinematography, the eerie vibe of the family, and just the overall tone are impeccable.
Long after the lights go out, you'll still be thinking about the insane twist and conflicts of this movie. Well-deserved for the second spot!
1. Hereditary (2018)
Hereditary is a horrific paranormal horror film starring Toni Collette as the Graham family matriarch, and it's what you should watch if you don't want to sleep on Halloween.
In this film, her daughter and grandchildren begin to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry which led them to try and outrun the sinister fate they have inherited.
